Environmental Responsibility Initiatives
In an effort to make Toledo CellulART more sustainable, we have implemented several measures to reduce its environmental impact:

We utilize local vendors for breakfast and lunch. Our lunch provider, Balance, grows a significant portion of their ingredients in their own aquaponics farm. They also team up with local farmers and utilize compostable packaging and silverware (https://balancegrille.com/values/). In our registration form, we highlight plant-based menu options as the more sustainable, lower carbon footprint option.

Our program is digital to avoid wasteful printing.

We use plastic-free name tags and lanyards for attendees.

As most people attendees drive to the meeting from several regional universities, we promote carpooling. We include a carpooling option in our registration form and connect attendees that are willing to pool together.

For our invited speakers that travel by air, we take measures to reduce the impact, such as choosing the more sustainable airline and selecting direct flights when possible.
